The Manitoba government, in partnership with Economic Development Winnipeg and the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, has launched Retrain Manitoba, a $12.5 million workforce skills development grant program aimed at advancing Manitoba’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Invest in your workforce by helping employees gain the skills and knowledge needed to foster innovation and adapt to the changing business landscape caused by the pandemic.
Employers can apply for reimbursement of up to $2,500 per employee, with a maximum reimbursement of $75,000 per company. Companies are eligible for reimbursement for a variety of in-person and online industry-recognized training courses offered by third-party trainers, both inside and outside of Manitoba.
Employers who have already paid for courses with start dates between April 1, 2021, and August 31, 2022, are eligible to apply for the grants. The program is retroactive and covers course start dates within that period.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until March 31, 2022, or until the funds are fully allocated.
