Desjardins is pleased to announce the 2022-2023 Desjardins GoodSpark Grants Program, totaling $3 million in business funding. Desjardins is on a mission to help improve the lives of Canadians and their communities. To achieve this, they will award $20,000 to local small businesses in Canada that plan to make a positive impact on their community.

The Desjardins GoodSpark Grants Program will choose winners who intend to use the grant for sustainable development, employment, innovation, and community impact.

For a limited time, small business owners can apply through the program's website.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the Desjardins GoodSpark Grants Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a local business operating in at least one of the following areas: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.
  • One completed online application must be submitted by the owner of a small Canadian business. Note: an applicant can submit applications for only one company.
  • Must have at least one employee, but no more than 50. Employees must be on the regular payroll.
  • Small businesses must have a Canadian business registration number and a registered business name.
  • Must have at least one year of business operation before October 2022.
  • Applicants may not be affiliated with any religious or political organizations.
  • The business may not be owned by any Desjardins employee.
  • The business may not be a franchise.
  • The applicant cannot be a previous GoodSpark Small Business Grants winner.
  • Small businesses may not be charities or non-profits and cannot receive government funding.

Winners will be selected based on the criteria above, the impact the grant will have on the small Canadian business, and the quality of the applicant's submission and business funding plan.

Prizes

The Desjardins GoodSpark Grants Program will award 150 local small businesses that meet the requirements, totaling $3 million. Each winner will receive a grant award of $20,000, made out to their small business.

Submission Timeline

  • The 2022-2023 Desjardins GoodSpark Grants Program application period begins on Monday, October 10, 2022.
  • The application deadline is Sunday, November 6, 2022.
  • Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 PM (EDT) on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
