About
What does Mwanzo Mean?
Mwanzo means "new beginnings" or "genesis" in Swahili. In the Mwanzo program, we support you with the tools to help you take action on your idea so you can launch your business.
4-week, live and on-demand workshops combined with live 1:1 coaching sessions throughout the program.
Mwanzo Program brings together aspiring Black entrepreneurs, creatives, visionaries, and innovators from across Canada to start profitable businesses.

Requirements
Who can apply?
The ideal candidates for the BBVA's Mwanzo program must have:
Be motivated to bring your idea to life and be ready to commit time to develop your business.
Have a business idea that is solving a compelling problem using technology.
Be coachable, ambitious, and collaborative.
Have at least one Black-led founder or co-founder.

Simplify your vision and establish your goals in a one-page plan for funders and partners.

Learn a simple way to create a financial model in 20 minutes without excel magic or an accountant.

Learn how to sell your idea to others and let them join you to invest time, money, and effort.
